Rabindra Bhavan: Bolpur Santiniketan, Birbhum District

Rabindra bhavan is the museum that houses all the antiques of Rabindranath as well as the multiple houses where he used to stay all integrated into one campus. The museum is very well maintained. Entry fee is Rs. 40 only for an Indian national. The nobel prize was kept in this museum until it was stolen couple of years back. An important part of Visva Bharati University,Santiniketan; Rabindra Bhavana was founded in July 1942, just a year after the Poet’s death.It is, in fact, the museum is the focal point of the University.

This Bhavana includes among its treasures major part of Tagore’s manuscripts, correspondences, paintings and sketches. The poet’s personal library is here and various objects used by him, his voice-recordings and thousands of photograph taken of him at different times and places and the many gifts, honours and addresses which he received from different parts of the world have enriched the Bhavana’s archival holdings.
