This beautiful Church was designed by a French Architect Jacques Duchatz and was inaugurated on 27 Jan. 1884. The church testifies to the beauty of the architecture of the French period. Chandannagore is a beautiful historical town with beautiful monuments & French colonial era green colored buildings(unlike red-colored British Buildings which we are so used to seeing) which I discovered purely by accident as I was just passing by. But I was so awe-struck that I couldn’t help, but snap a few quick snaps & gape at the beautiful buildings in amazement. As I was entering Chandannagore, the town seemed very different from other places nearby. You would feel as if you have been transported to some other era.
